Psalm 45, an exposition

Shepherd's revealing dream...

45 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

This to me speaks of the gift of being a writer, a prophet to the King and Most High God. It is an ancient, rare and time-honoured tradition for a select and blessed few, entrusted with a heavy burden indeed, because by the grace of God and of a certain humility in obedience, their shoulders prove wide, solid and fit enough to shoulder the weight.

2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.

To be fairer than the children of men speaks to me of divinity. Who is loftier than man, is it not the angels of the heavenly realm? To have grace poured on my lips means the Lord purifies the heart and subsequent speech of His man, for “out of the heart flow the issues of life,” (Proverbs 4:23). This means we are literally sanctioned and anointed to speak the truth, so that “what is whispered in our ears, that we shout from the rooftops,” (Luke 12:3). And God has blessed me forever, because in Him we find life pure, life eternal. Death belongs to the heathen, to which wholly 98% or more of humanity is destined to and set apart for. For we know that narrow is the path, and strait is the gate that leads to salvation (that is true, life everlasting), and few of us there be, who find it.

3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.

There is only One most mighty Majesty, I take up His Sword (which is His Word) in His service, but I will always be a lowly and willing messenger, never the most mighty Himself. Misunderstanding, misappropriating and corrupting this fatal identity swap was the mortal sin of David. For this is to appropriate credit for a message that never originated with me in the first place (nor will it ever). And but by the eternal and loving grace of God, I myself would have died blind, ignorant, hellbound and steeped in sin. IVP (idolatry, vanity, pride) is the watchword of the day here, and of all pride and vanity, that of the religious persuasion is the most insidious and deadly.

4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

Certainly we ride prosperously as a sword-wielding servant of the Almighty, whose right hand daily teaches me dark, terrible and disconcerting things. He takes us into His truth, and blinds our tomorrows with respect to our yesterdays. We are incandelighted by the vision of light, even as we become of aware of the stark darkness that has made our abode, hitherto. We are bidden to ride on victoriously alongside Him in truth, meekness and righteousness, for without Him there is neither truth, or beauty, or victory. Blessed be the Eternal Name.

5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.

The King’s enemies are any and all who deny his uncontestable, everlasting Kingship, which is the vast majority of man. These all reside in BYOM, Be Your Own Masterville, and are marked for destruction. There is One God, One King, ONE. Also counted among His enemies are those that offer up the sacrifice of Cain, anthropomorphising the Eternal exclusively with whatever weak and shallow attributes they themselves possess, and denying all the rest, the rest in which His Holiness lies. These are them that are shot through the heart by His flawless arrows, piercing some to repentance, ushering others to the second death, from which there is no return.

6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

There is only One Eternal Throne, One Ruling Sceptre. All the rest are imposters, idolaters and enemy combatants, hostile unto death toward the King. The most you can ever hope to achieve, the highest you may attain is Daughter or Sonship, to be reckoned a Prince or Princess in the King’s royal line, and in His house. But first put a knife to your throat and cut, before ever daring to proclaim yourself “a king,” for such is the incorrigible and fatally irredeemable sin of Lucifer.

7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Who among us truly loves righteousness, considers judgement, justice and mercy? Who esteems clemency, peace and upholds the right? Such will the Everlasting Judge countenance favourably, and with them alone, does his hidden counsel dwell, forever.

8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Our God delights in fine oils, clean sheets, gladness of heart, love and pleasure. These are designed as rewards for the holy and the righteous; those who unfailingly seek His face. The problem with man today, is that all these things and more are believed to be had and readily available, for a price. In heretical fashion and with faulty theology (usually, for a lack thereof), they boast of being able to barter and trade for all the pleasures and luxuries of life, if only they have enough money. Then to acquire this money they sin with callous and willful hearts, disregarding the fact that with sin comes damnation, which is followed by the curse, then death, and all that entails. Where then is the luxury? Who can truly show you pleasure, O mortal fool? If not by the very hand of God, and at that - His hand alone, then by whom?

9 Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

I will be surrounded by the King’s lovely daughters, angelic creatures of the heavenly realm. To have the queen at my right hand is to behold my lovely and honourable wife, for who is a queen if not a king’s own companion? Now here “kings” in the plural is meant figuratively, for it has now been concretely established that King there is but One, and all the rest of us may be counted as princes, if we prove blessed and worthy enough in His eyes. Still the language will continue to speak of “kings,” a blasphemous statement. We must here consider, that the bible acknowledges the presence of “kings” and always has, still… the instructed reader and student of scripture understands these translations to be misnomers at best, and heresies at worst. God outright rejected the idea of human kingship for Israel, “lest they be as all other nations.” But to prove the error of their ways he assented and gave them one, the great tyrant Saul, from which David usurped the kingdom. Ever since then the kingship in Israel has proven a veritable nightmare, until God himself in the form of Jesus Christ our Lord, came once and for all to reestablish the Kingdom in the rightful hands of the only one who can - the Holy One of Israel.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; 11 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.

In scripture we learn of the Daughter of Zion, that represents the Lord’s beloved people. God pines, longs and desires the beauty of his people, for their complete and transformative restoration to their glory of old, from time everlasting. Indeed He wishes even to surpass the former glory for a new splendor that cannot be fathomed in the mind of men. This will be the Eternal Kingdom and the New Jerusalem, spoken of by the prophets at all times. This is the Holy City as found in the book of Revelation and elsewhere in the Good Book.

12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour. 13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

Here, surprisingly, we hear of the daughter of Tyre. The kingdom of Tyre, biblically speaking, refers to the throne of Satan, the richest and most superficially wealthy and beautiful kingdom of the land. A kingdom made rich by “the vast wisdom of its king, who has put his wisdom to great and profitable trafficking, and has thus become rich beyond compare.” Also we hear speak of “Babylon the Great, merchant to all the world, high and mighty in power and made filthy by her inumerable whoredoms, which she has committed with all the kings of the earth.” So why would the King, the Only Rightful King, delight in “the daughter of Tyre?” I can only guess that here God is putting away the whoredoms and transgression of the past, tossing all our sins to the depths of the sea (never to be seen again), and by His great, incomparable mercy is reconciling us, lowly and unworthy sinners, to Himself by the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Saviour. How else to explain this? For, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” yet, “by His wounds we are healed,” amen.

14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. 15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.

Ahah! Here once more, compelling evidence that our most recent analysis proves correct… or in any case, very close to the mark. How else can these verses proclaim, “with gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace?” For what is the King’s palace, if not Heaven? And who is to be brought with gladness of heart and a rejoicing spirit before the King, if not the redeemed? And who is the redeemed if not those whom He has cleansed, clothed “in raiment of needlework and accompanied by virgins?” And whoever can that be except for those of us who have been forgiven, reconciled and accepted by the divine, holy and underserved grace of the King Himself? I believe the point is glaringly clear.

16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

Here once more, we are rightly vindicated and our theories are validated as accurate and true. Remember our previous discussion on “being princes and princesses of the Heavenly Realm?” This verse asserts the notion, that “instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.” Why instead of thy fathers? Is it not because our Father is One, and we are all His children? And who can “make princes in all the earth,” if not for our Father and King? Did I not say before, that Son and Daughtership is the highest position we can hope to beget, that this is the greatest conceivable honour and achievement to be bestowed on us, lowly creatures of mud and clay? And case closed, herewith it is proven true. Now who are these children, if not the progeny of the Daughter of Zion; and the offspring of the Daughter of Tyre? The Holy and the Redeemed, Israel and the Gentiles, brought together under One banner, the banner of Our Beloved King once and for evermore; to be, “children gathered together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,” as declared by Jesus in Matthew 23:37? So be it on earth as it is in heaven, forevermore, amen.

17 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Now we, the King’s children gather together and we stand, then we kneel reverently together before our Father the Eternal King; let us give thanks together, let us together proclaim and worship His Holy Name; now let us say, “amen.”
